Intensifying Exercise for Weight Loss and Health

If you struggle with your weight, a sad truth is that you might be passing on your own health issues to your children.  One obese parent is often likely to be seen with obese children. The fact is that we are what we eat.  If your diet is full of carbs, fat and sugar, it is natural that your children will be eating the same types of food as you.  However, you are setting them up for failure.  Children an youth may have a faster metabolism than adults but it is unable to combat large quantities of sugar and fat without leading to weight gain.  You are most likely leading your children down a dangerous path of carb and sugar addiction and ultimately, poor health and obesity.

What Steps Should We Take to Prevent Childhood Obesity?

Something needs to give before they are doomed for the rest of your life and their lives. They need to be introduced to the concept of nutrition and exercise.  If children aren’t taught about healthy eating and weight gain, they will continue to eat poorly without being mindful to make healthy choices.  Many people worry that by teaching kids about health and nutrition, they will develop body issues and obsess over ‘fat” or being overweight.  That is why it is so important to teach them to get and be healthy and encourage regular exercise.  You can do this by being an inspiration yourself and set the right example.  One woman recently started doing the 21 day fix extreme exercise program in her living room.  Her kids watched her do the program every day without dreading it and they would join in with her.  This made it fun for them to do exercise because they saw their mother doing it too!
