Opportunities post-JLICA
• Regional report launches: Lydia Mungherera and Nathan Nshakira plan to launch the final report in East Africa in September 2009. Linda Richter and HSRC are organizing a South Africa in-country launch of JLICA report in conjunction with RIATT and UNICEF in mid-late June.
• AIDS Impact meeting, Botswana: September 22-25, 2009: a reception is planned during which the JLICA report will be promoted.
• 9th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific meeting, Bali: August 2009. Sonal Zaveri of LG2 will present JLICA research at this meeting. Her presentation is entitled “Mine and Ours: An Economic Paradigm for Children Affected by HIV in Resource Poor Countries in Asia.
• CCABA “Road to Vienna” series on Family-Centred Services for Children: this series of three meetings, culminating in a symposium at the IAS Conference in Vienna, aims to explore successful experiences in family-focused service delivery for children, from the field of HIV/AIDS and beyond, and to foster a broad coalition of advocates for a family-centered approach.
